Global Landscapes Forum Opens 2027 Social Media Ambassadors Call — Deadline 17 October

The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) has opened applications for the 2027 cohort of its GLF Social Media Ambassadors Program — and the deadline is just two days away, on 17 October 2026 at 23:59 GMT. Young digital storytellers, content creators and climate advocates from around the world can still apply for the global online volunteer program before the call closes.

GLF Social Media Ambassadors: what the 2027 program is

The program is a global online volunteer initiative for young people aged 18 to 35 who want to use their own social media channels to reframe how the world talks about land, climate and nature. According to GLF, ambassadors engage their communities, share landscape stories and inspire action around some of the planet’s most urgent challenges.

GLF is a global platform focused on sustainable land use and climate solutions, and its ambassador program has become one of the largest youth digital storytelling networks in the climate space. The 2026 edition received over 1,300 applications from all across the world, according to the program’s official page — a sign of how much appetite young people have for communicating climate and nature issues in their own voices.

Past participants have included young storytellers such as Kofi from Ghana, Carlos from the Galápagos, Ishika from India and Kea from Botswana — creators who used their platforms to bring local landscape stories to a global audience.

No big audience needed to apply

One of the most encouraging details in the call is that applicants do not need a large following. GLF says it looks for people who are already creating with their platforms — reframing landscape stories and mobilising their communities, no matter how small the audience. What matters, according to the program, is authenticity, creativity and a genuine connection to land, climate and nature.

Ambassadors use the community hashtags #ThinkLandscape and #ActLandscape in their storytelling, and the program has launched a new community rallying tag, #MajorityForAction.

What ambassadors gain

The program offers a full package of training and opportunities. According to GLF’s official page, ambassadors receive:

  • Storytelling workshops and training sessions to sharpen their craft
  • Access to digital learning platforms
  • Online and in-person meetups with fellow ambassadors worldwide
  • Sponsored travel opportunities across Africa, Latin America and Asia to meet community members
  • The chance to cover GLF events as social-media correspondents
  • Content collaboration with the wider GLF community
  • Visibility and connections with leading organisations and partners

FAKTA

  • Program: GLF Social Media Ambassadors 2027
  • Who: Young digital storytellers, content creators and climate advocates aged 18–35, anywhere in the world
  • Format: Global online volunteer program — ambassadors use their own social media channels
  • Deadline: 17 October 2026, 23:59 GMT
  • 2026 edition: Over 1,300 applications received worldwide
  • Organiser: The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF), a global platform for sustainable land use and climate solutions
  • Key tags: #ThinkLandscape, #ActLandscape, #MajorityForAction

Why it matters

Youth voices are increasingly central to how climate and land stories reach the public — not through reports alone, but through short videos, photos and posts that travel on the platforms young people actually use. GLF’s program has shown that a phone, a local landscape and an honest story can carry as far as any campaign.

With the 2027 application window closing on 17 October, this is the moment for young creators to step forward. As GLF puts it, the next generation of landscape storytellers is needed now — and the call is open to anyone willing to pick up the story.
