Five workers were injured after a drone attack damaged an industrial facility in Russia’s Perm region on Sunday, regional governor Dmitry Makhonin said, in a strike that reached deep inside Russian territory.

Emergency services were deployed to the scene and the injured workers received medical help, Makhonin said in a statement on the state-backed MAX messaging app. He did not give further details about the nature of the damage.

FAKTA: Perm drone attack

  • What happened: A drone attack damaged an industrial facility in Russia’s Perm region on Sunday, 25 October 2026.
  • Casualties: Five workers were injured; three were taken to a medical facility for examination, according to regional authorities.
  • Air defences: Regional authorities said air defence units and mobile fire teams shot down 11 attack drones over Perm Krai.
  • Damage: The facility sustained minor damage and continues to operate normally, regional authorities said.
  • Facility identified: Ukrainian media reports, cited by Russian outlets, identified the target as the AVISMA chemical and metallurgical plant in Berezniki.

What happened

Governor Dmitry Makhonin announced the attack on Sunday, saying a drone strike had damaged an industrial facility in the Perm region and injured five of its workers. Emergency services were working at the scene, and the injured people received the necessary medical help.

Regional authorities later said air defence forces and mobile fire teams shot down 11 attack drones over Perm Krai during the attack. The facility itself sustained only minor damage and continues to operate normally, according to the regional authorities.

Facility in Berezniki

Ukrainian media outlets, cited in Russian reporting, said the strike targeted the AVISMA chemical and metallurgical plant in Berezniki, in the northern part of Perm Krai. AVISMA is one of the largest producers of titanium sponge and magnesium in Russia.

There is no evidence that the plant suffered any significant damage, according to the same reports. Russian authorities have not named the facility in their public statements about the attack.

Long-range strikes reach deeper into Russia

The Perm region lies far from the Ukrainian border, and the strike is part of a pattern of long-range drone attacks reaching industrial targets deep inside Russia. Russian military commentators have noted that such long-range strikes have become increasingly frequent.
